The Governor speaks to the attendees of the 2022 Governor’s Prayer Breakfast. Saying a little prayer for future leaders August 12, 2022 By Ashayla Dawn Since 1991 an annual event has been held to allow space for State leaders, students and dignitaries to pray for WA as a collective. That event is known as the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast. At this year’s event, the Governor spoke about the challenges our State has faced in recent years and how as a community we worked together to overcome them. He also invited attendees to reflect on how they may have grown from the experience and the positives to come from spending more time at home, more time with family and more opportunities to try new experiences in our own backyard. Following the Governor’s address, a keynote was delivered by Mr Graham Maybury OAM. His speech focused on his lengthy career in the media, the development of Lifeline WA services and his role in the community as a Pastor, patron and advocate for social justice, helping the homeless and mentally ill, and how his spirituality developed and guided him throughout.
