The Honourable David Alan Templeman MLA DipTchg; BEd Minister for Culture and the Arts; Sport and Recreation; International Education; Heritage; Leader of the House and the Honourable David (Dave) Joseph Kelly MLA BA Minister for Water; Forestry; Youth joined the Governor this morning for a meeting of the Executive Council.

Ukraine

His Excellency Vasyl Myroshnychenko and his family meet with the Governor.

The Governor welcomed Mr Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, to Government House today. The newly appointed Ambassador updated the Governor on the current war in Ukraine and expressed his intention to enhance Ukraine‑Australia bilateral relations through military cooperation, trade and investment, culture, education and tourism. He showed a particular interest in Western Australian business and industry and the state’s resources sector and tertiary education system.

In the afternoon, the Governor welcomed Ms Rebecca Tolstoy AM, Founding Chair and Director of Path of Hope Foundation and Mr John Garland AM, Member of the Board of Directors, to discuss their organisation.

The Path of Hope Project is a project backed by Perth Rotary and the Salvation Army with the vision to break the intergenerational cycle of family violence. The Project mobilises the organisational capacity of Rotarians to support The Salvation Army’s services that provide safety and empowerment to women and their children escaping Family and Domestic Violence and to raise much-needed awareness in our local communities.
