Colours of our Country: Pilbara Art Exhibition October 10, 2022 By Ashayla Dawn The Governor was invited to attend the opening of the “Colours of our Country: Pilbara Art Exhibition” at Central Park, St Georges Terrace. The Governor meets some of the artists. This exhibition showcases the stories and customs of people in the Pilbara region through vibrant artwork. The event also creates economic development opportunities as many of the pieces, created by 52 different artists, are available for purchase. Hosted by Rio Tinto, the annual event has sold 2,741 artworks and generated more than $2.9 million dollars for participating local Aboriginal artists, their art centres and communities since 2006. Artists from the Pilbara are officially welcomed to Noongar Country. The exhibition is open to the public from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm Monday 10 – Friday 14 October 2022 and Monday 17 – Friday 21 October 2022 in the Central Park foyer, 152-158 St Georges Terrace, Perth.
