The applicants for the 2023 Rhodes Scholarship. Rhodes Scholarship October 28, 2022 By Ashayla Dawn The Governor Chaired the selection interview process for the 2023 Rhodes Scholarships. The Selection Committee convened early in the morning in order to interview seven outstanding young candidates. The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully funded, full-time, postgraduate award that enables talented young people from around the world to study at the University of Oxford. The Selection Committee included; Mr Rohan Mishra, Deputy Chair Rhodes Selection Committee and Partner, Banking and Finance group, Clayton Utz Professor Sue Fletcher AO, Senior Principal Research Fellow at Murdoch University, and Chief Scientific Officer at PYC Therapeutics Dr Malindi Haggett, Clinical Leadership Advisor, Institute for Health Leadership, Department of Health WA Professor David Shirley, Executive Dean of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) Ms Liz Wall, Founder and Director Sharedres Mr Craig Wood, Chief Executive Officer Vast Solar Professor Merlin Crossley, Deputy National Secretary for Rhodes Scholarship Australia and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Quality at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney Dr Graeme Robertson, Honorary Secretary for the Rhodes Scholarship in WA The candidates included; Ms Kate Leekong, Curtin University/St Mary’s Anglican Community School Ms Amber Anderson, University of Western Australia/Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School Mr Riley Faulds, University of Western Australia/Christian Brothers College Fremantle Ms Lauren Jolliffe, Notre Dame University/Churchlands Senior High School Ms Caitlyn Stone, University of Western Australia/Hope Christian College Dr James Leigh, Curtin University/Aquinas College Ms Abbey Mardons, University of Western Australia/Presbyterian Ladies College After the interviews, the Committee deliberated before the Governor made the final announcement.
