The Governor with the Squier Family, the winners of the 2022 Governor’s Cup The Governor’s Cup and the Doig Medal October 1, 2022 By Amelia O'Sullivan Since 1896 the Governor’s Cup has been the premier award at the Perth Royal Show. Granted to the exhibitor with the most points in the livestock exhibits, it rewards both excellence and consistency while also promoting the quest for higher standards. The Governor awarded the 2022 Governor’s Cup to the Squiers family of Shirlee Downs Dongadilling. The Governor also visited the Claremont Men’s Shed to see some of the wonderful work being created by their members and hear about their partnership with Bicycles for Humanity WA. A quick stop by the WA Police exhibit found the Governor challenging the Cadets in the push up fitness challenge! Congratulations to the Royal Agricultural Society of WA for another brilliant Perth Royal Show! Doig Medal The Governor was invited to attend the annual Fremantle Football Club Doig Medal Presentation – an award that recognises the best and fairest player of the season.
