The Governor speaks with graduates of the Leadership WA Signature Leadership Program. PCYC Life Membership, the Ambassador of Nepal and Signature Leadership Graduations November 25, 2022 By Amelia O'Sullivan The Western Australian Police and Community Youth Centres (PCYC) this morning awarded the Governor with a life membership. The Governor has a long standing connection with the PCYC following his 46 year career with the WA Police Force. While Police Commissioner, he was instrumental in securing sustainability funding and supported and endorsed a new partnership agreement that was developed between PCYC and WA Police Force in 2019. He was also responsible for refocusing WA Police on youth policing and early intervention & prevention work. Police Commissioner Col Blanch APM and Geoffrey Stooke AM presented the Governor with PCYC Life Membership. Ambassador of Nepal His Excellency Mr Kailash Raj Pokharel, the Ambassador of Nepal to Australia and Mr Fred Brown, Honorary Consul of Nepal in Perth paid a courtesy call on the Governor. The Ambassador is attending the Nepal Festival Perth held at Forrest Chase. While in Perth the Ambassador is exploring partnerships in business and agriculture including grape cultivation. His Excellency Mr Kailash Raj Pokharel, the Ambassador of Nepal to Australia and Mr Fred Brown, Honorary Consul of Nepal in WA. Signature Leadership Graduation The Governor and Mrs Dawson hosted the 2022 Signature Leadership Graduation Ceremony in the Ballroom. This is the first official engagement the Governor has had with Leadership WA since accepting Patronage. The Signature Leadership Program is for senior professionals from the corporate, government, small business and not-for-profit sectors looking to expand and enhance their capacity to be influential leaders in their organisations and the broader community. The Governor presented the 35 graduates with their certificate in a ceremony attended by their mentors and loved ones. As leaders I believe you have a duty to look and go beyond personal recognition and achievement. You have been selected and acknowledged as leaders – go ahead and lead.
