A new take on Swan Lake

The Governor and Mrs Dawson attended the final production of the WA Ballet’s 70th anniversary year, a reimagining of Swan Lake. This unique telling of the story is set in 1880’s Fremantle Harbour with ancient music and dance performed by Noongar artists interweaved.

Balladong Wadjuk Noongar man Barry McGuire worked with Choreographer Krzysztof Pastor to incorporate a traditional Noongar dance relating to his family’s totem, the Black Swan.
