The Governor and Mrs Dawson welcomed students selected for the 2022 National Youth Science Forum to Government House Celebrating our regions, our young STEM stars and our best innovators December 5, 2022 By Carole Kerr Regional Western Australia was a key talking point today as the Governor and Mrs Dawson welcomed representatives from the Regional Development Council to Government House. The gathering was a wonderful opportunity to hear more about the work being done across Western Australia and the key priorities for economic and social development across the state. Photo – The Governor and Mrs Dawson welcomed representatives from the Regional Development Council to lunch The Council is an independent advisory body to the Minister for Regional Development and comprises Chairpersons of the State’s nine Regional Development Commissions, as well as the Director General of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. Science Students Shine The Governor and Mrs Dawson also welcomed Western Australian students selected for the 2023 National Youth Science Forum Year 12 program to Government House. The program offers participants the chance to explore their passion for science and technology through a series of in-person and digital science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) experiences. Best of the West The Governor attended the 2022 Western Australia Innovator of the Year (WAIOTY) Awards, celebrating the very best creative and business talent in this state.
