The Governor met with His Excellency Mr Tomas Dub, Ambassador of the Czech Republic Hosting the Public Sector Leadership Council, welcoming an Ambassador and a Consul General December 6, 2022 By Carole Kerr His Excellency Tomas Dub, Ambassador of the Czech Republic called on the Governor today during his first official visit to Western Australia. The Ambassador spoke in glowing terms about Australia and our way of life and his discussion with the Governor covered how the Ukraine war and winter in Europe painted a very different immediate outlook to that in Australia. The Governor also met with Mr Ahmad Fikri Zakian, Consul General of Malaysia in Perth The Consul General spoke of the very strong historic bond between Western Australia and Malaysia, with an estimated 30,000 Malaysians living in WA, including a large contingent of university students in Perth and a community of more than 400 in Katanning. A dinner for the Public Sector Leadership Council The Governor and Mrs Dawson welcomed the WA Public Sector Leadership Council to Government House for their final meeting of the year, followed by a dinner. The Council meet monthly and includes representatives from State Government Departments, the Public Sector Commission and WA Police Force. The Council is a working group of the heads of 19 public sector agencies and the WA Police Force, providing an effective mechanism for sharing information and ensuring strong communication between the state’s public sector leaders.
