A visit to Ngala

Ngala is one of Western Australia’s oldest community service providers, supporting parents, families and communities for over 130 years.

Today, the Governor and Mrs Dawson visited Ngala’s Kensington facility and met with board members and senior staff.  Children’s progress and early intervention are key priority areas for the Governor during his term, and as Patron he has a keen interest in the important work that Ngala undertakes.

CEO Fiona Beermier provided a briefing which encompassed Ngala’s important history, statewide services, and operational challenges.  Ms Beermier presented the Governor with a book entitled: Raising Ngala.

The residential parenting service offers parents support in dealing with issues including perinatal anxiety and postnatal depression, sleep and settling, feeding , child development and parent-child relationship difficulties. The Governor and Mrs Dawson spoke with staff and were inspired by their passion and dedication to their work.

The Governor is proud to be Patron of Ngala and looks forward to opportunities to promote their life-changing work.
