Dinner with the Lord Mayor of London

This evening the Governor and Mrs Dawson hosted the Lord Mayor of London, the Right Honourable Nicolas Lyons and other official guests for a dinner at Government House.

Guests enjoyed a musical performance by Adrian Galante and Danny Moss Jr.

The Lord Mayor’s visit is an important opportunity to connect with the United Kingdom, further strengthening ties between Australia and the UK. While in Perth, the Lord Mayor will be meeting with leaders from government and the business sector. His visit to Perth is part of a larger trip to other cities in Australia.

Mr Lyons was elected as Alderman for the Ward of Tower in 2017, and elected Lord Mayor of London in November 2022. He has considerable experience in the banking, finance and insurance sectors as well as a long association with not-for-profit organisations. Alderman Lyons is passionate about financial literacy and financial inclusion which he sees as particularly important with challenging economic times ahead.
