Food education and helping those in need February 1, 2023 By Amelia O'Sullivan Mrs Dawson was invited to visit Foodbank WA today to learn more about the programs underway and see the inspiring work they are undertaking in supporting Western Australians in need. Kate O’Hara, Chief Executive Officer of Foodbank WA, guided a tour through the key areas of the site, located near Perth Airport. Mrs Dawson visited the purpose built education space for a first hand look at a ‘Healthy Foods For All Abilities’ class. The program is a 4 week nutrition, education and cooking program for people living with disability and support workers that teaches participants how to plan, select and cook healthy meals. Mrs Dawson is briefed on the ‘Healthy Food for all Abilities’ program. Foodbank WA relies heavily on donations and volunteers to assist with packing hampers, cooking meals, assisting on checkout and warehouse operations.
