Presentation of the Address in Reply February 15, 2023 By James Pratt This morning a delegation of Parliamentary officials called on the Governor to present an Address in Reply. In April 2021, the former Governor the Honourable Kim Beazley AC officially declared open the 41st Parliament of Western Australia. According to custom, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly calls on the Governor to present an Address in Reply. The Speaker, the Honourable Michelle Roberts MLA was attended by the Sergeant-at-Arms Mr Thomas Moorhead. Other official guests included Mr David Robert Michael MLA, Ms Lara Dalton MLA, Mr Peter Rundle MLA and Dr David Honey MLA, Clerk of the Legislative Assembly Ms Kristen Robinson, Dr Isla Macphail and Ms Catie Parsons. The Legislative Assembly Mace symbolises the authority of the Speaker and is carried by the Sergeant-at-Arms at official occasions.
