The Governor with the Honourable Stephen Smith Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Connecting with West Australians abroad in London March 7, 2023 By James Pratt Tuesday in London started by meeting with the WA Government Office staff in London and the Honourable Stephen Smith, Australia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. That evening, a reception was hosted at Australia House with WA alumni and those doing business in London. The Governor and Mrs Dawson spoke to attendees about the virtues of Western Australia, and its good reputation abroad, reminding attendees that they are our unofficial ambassadors. Australia House is the oldest Australian diplomatic mission and the longest continuously occupied foreign mission in London. Many people will recognise the iconic interior as the location for Gringotts Bank in the Harry Potter movies!
