Official opening of the British Consulate General and Executive Council

The new British Consulate General

Today the Governor attended the official opening of the new British Consulate General. 

Hosted by the British Consul General in Western Australia, Ms Tina Redshaw, the Governor joined the Right Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP in unveiling a plaque at the new consular offices on Adelaide Terrace.

A Welcome to Country was given by Ms Sharon Wood-Kenny.

The new consular offices are located on Adelaide Terrace and are part of an upgraded diplomatic presence in Western Australia. There has not been a British Consulate in Perth for over 20 years. 

25 years of the Harry Perkins Institute

The Governor attended the 25th anniversary dinner celebrations for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

The Institute is a leading Western Australian medical research centre, dedicated to tackling some of the world’s biggest health issues. 

Executive Council

This morning the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council. The Honourable Sue Ellery, Minister for Finance; Commerce, Women’s Interests and the Honourable Rita Saffioti, Minister for Transport; Planning and Ports were in attendance.
