Celebrating the achievements of our volunteers May 18, 2023 By Adam Brouwer It was a night to celebrate the work of our volunteers, as the Governor and Mrs Dawson attended Volunteering WA’s – 2023 WA Volunteer of the Year Awards. These prestigious awards promote the value and important contribution of volunteering to the social, cultural, economic and environmental well-being of Western Australia and pay tribute to those volunteers who inspire and promote the spirit of volunteerism through their exemplary endeavours. The Governor spoke of how encouraging people to get involved in volunteering was a key priority for him and Mrs Dawson during their term.I want more people to realise that it isn’t difficult to fit volunteering into your life – to experience the joys of giving and knowing that you have helped others – it’s just about finding the right thing that works for you and your availability – because and we all have something to offer. If you are keen to get into volunteering but don’t know where to start, checkout Volunteering WA – there’s something for everyone.
