Ahead of tomorrow’s Coronation ceremony, Mrs Dawson hosted representatives from their patronage organisations along with Victorian Order recipients and other invited guests to mark the occasion.

Mrs Dawson spoke of the priorities of the Governor and herself while in term, aimed at improving the outcomes for all West Australians.

“We have some amazing minds, and organisations, who through your respective fields, are working towards the common goal of improving the lives and outcomes for West Australians. And what the Governor and I are able to do, is bring you all together to share your ideas, your passions and experiences”.

Ms Tina Redshaw, Consul General of the United Kingdom read a message from His Majesty The King, it included, “As my wife and I mark this very special moment, we want to thank all of you in the Commonwealth and throughout the world, for your good wishes.”

During the event, guests were treated to the official Coronation dish, the Coronation Quiche, and also chicken vol au vents – a twist on Queen Elizabeth II’s 1953 Coronation Chicken dish.

Everyone is invited to Government House tomorrow, from 10:30am until 2:30pm to celebrate. Come down and enjoy a picnic in the gardens (if it isn’t raining) or call in to the Ballroom to enjoy a piano performance by James Dekleva and to leave your best wishes for Their Majesties in our signing books.
