Swearing-in the 31st Premier of Western Australia, the Honourable Roger Cook MLA

This morning at Government House, the Governor led proceedings for the swearing-in of the 31st Premier of Western Australia, the Hon Roger Cook MLA, Cabinet Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries.

Before the ceremony, the Governor presided over a special meeting of the Executive Council which was convened to establish the structure of the new Ministry.

Emeritus Professor Colleen Hayward AM welcomed attendees to Country.

The National Anthem was performed by Madeline Crofts. 

In his speech, the Governor thanked the Honourable Mark McGowan MLA for his service to the people of Western Australia. The Governor went on to say:

The people of Western Australia look to you, to serve, and execute the responsibilities of your offices to the highest standard.

Together with those friends and family members who are here today to offer their support, on behalf of the people of Western Australia, I wish you every success as you carry out those duties.

The Honourable David Michael MLA was sworn-in as a new member of the Cabinet. Other Ministers whose portfolios have changed include:
