The Governor hosted a welcome reception for Australian cyber security thought-leaders with Edith Cowan University (ECU) (external link).
The ECU Cyber 2020 cybersecurity policy forum was held to review and prioritise the insights collected during Australia’s 2020 Cyber Security Strategy.
Western Australia is pivotal in helping to foster our nation’s cyber capability; primarily through Edith Cowan University, home to the headquarters of Australia’s Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre.

As outlined in the Governor’s Statement of Priorities, the Governor is committed to, “Championing Western Australian achievements in technology and development and the state’s capacity to contribute to international research efforts such as the Square Kilometre Array and emerging Defence technologies.”
