Ms Janet Holmes a Court AC, founding Chair of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO), was thanked for her significant contribution to the orchestra’s continued success at a special dinner at Government House, hosted by the Governor and Ms Annus.
The event was attended by WASO Board members and their partners.
Ms Holmes a Court began as founding Chair of WASO in 1998, stepping down from the position in 2018, but remaining as a Board Director.
Earlier this year current WASO Chairman Dr Richard Goyder AO announced that Ms Holmes a Court had accepted the title of WASO’s Honorary Patron in recognition of her unparalleled commitment to the orchestra’s music and community, as well as her advocacy of philanthropic giving.
Ms Holmes a Court has been a tireless advocate for the orchestra and played a key role in the pursuit of a permanent ‘home’ for WASO through the redevelopment of the Perth Concert Hall.
The Governor is proud to be patron of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
