Joined by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and other outstanding local musicians, Tim Minchin performed songs from his brand-new, critically acclaimed album ‘Apart Together’. The Governor described Tim Minchin as a great West Australian. “It was so interesting to me that so many of his stories were totally relatable to this state and Perth, yet he has found a way of translating that Perth experience into a body of work that fascinates people around the globe.” The Little Mermaid wows audiences in the Government House Ballroom Ms Annus joined all ages in the Government House Ballroom over the weekend for an outstanding performance of ‘The Little Mermaid’ by Freeze Frame Opera. There were four sold-out performances across Saturday and Sunday proudly presented by Perth Festival and the Government House Foundation of Western Australia. Freeze Frame Opera transformed the ballroom into a magical land of underwater caves and palaces for their live musical experience specially adapted for children. WA Mixtape in the Government House Gardens What a wonderful way to take in some of WA’s best musicians and bands with the Government House Gardens the venue for Perth Festival and RTRFM’s WA Mixtape event on Saturday night. With Government House as the backdrop, the event kicked off under a twilight sky with performances from a range of local artists across the three-hour live event. Musicians and bands performed a mix of their version of an iconic WA track as well as their own originals, with audiences treated to a chilled-out celebration relaxing on the lower lawns of Government House.
