The Governor meets with Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia President David Thomas and CEO Peter Cooper A Royal Show update, received the Spanish Ambassador to Australia, and a meeting with the University of Notre Dame’s Vice Chancellor May 26, 2021 By Carole Kerr As proud patron of the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) the Governor was today updated on the progress towards the 2021 Perth Royal Show which is due to kick off in 121 days. Joined at Government House by RASWA President David Thomas and CEO Peter Cooper, the Governor was briefed on next steps in the countdown towards the show and to hear about the discussions and planning in progress behind the scenes. Received the Spanish Ambassador to Australia The Governor welcomed the Spanish Ambassador to Australia Her Excellency Ms Alicia Moral to Government House this morning. This was Ms Moral’s first trip to Western Australia, with the Governor taking the opportunity to share details on many of the state’s great attributes with the visiting Ambassador. Ms Moral was accompanied on her visit by Mr Enric Tarraso Letang who is the Honorary Consul of Spain in WA. Meeting with Notre Dame’s Vice Chancellor The University of Notre Dame’s Vice Chancellor Professor Francis Campbell called in to Government House today for a meeting with the Governor. Having started in the role in February 2020, today’s catch-up provided an opportunity for the Governor to hear how Professor Campbell’s first 15 months have gone, and to get an update on the University’s progress.
