Showcasing local artists with AGWA and preparing for constitutional duties

Government House has long held a mutually beneficial relationship with the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA). This relationship sees that at various intervals the artwork on display in the House is rotated, with pieces on loan from the gallery. The work of local artists adorn the walls and are viewed by international and national dignitaries, members of government and other distinguished visitors to the House.

His Excellency shared his fondness of a good story and graphically striking imagery. Mrs Dawson requested a variety of styles to represent the various elements of local culture and history, including works by Indigenous artists and works in contemporary and classic styles.
