Attended a briefing on the Danjoo Koorliny Walking Together initiative

The Governor today attended an update on the progress of the Danjoo Koorliny Walking Together Initiative, an Aboriginal-designed and led systems-change project aimed at helping the WA community walk together towards 2029 and beyond.

Supported by the Centre for Social Impact at the University of Western Australia as well as individuals and organisations, the initiative is a large-scale, long-term project to help Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people come together to co-create a better future for all.

“Danjoo Koorliny was initiated by some leadership from the Aboriginal community and is to encourage us by 2029 to be absorbed by spirit together. The meeting considered what sort of planning and activities should be considered in the creation of something permanent in the structure of reconciliation in Western Australia.” said the Governor.
