COVID-19 and the Governor’s program
The Governor’s program is being kept under close review in light of the prevailing public health situation and associated government advisories. All invitations received for the Governor of Western Australia to host events or attend external events in the community will not be considered if they are not in line with the current State Government advice in terms of social distancing. We appreciate your understanding. The Governor and the Office of the Governor look forward to engaging with your organisation in the very near future.

It is not always appropriate or necessary for the Governor to speak at an event, for example balls, sporting events and most wreath laying ceremonies. Comprehensive speech notes are required at least three weeks before the event, and four weeks for keynotes.
A detailed Event Program with timings of the function will need to be provided prior to the event should the invitation be accepted.

We can accept requests up to three months in advance, and require a minimum of four weeks’ notice.
