Dr Kelsie Prabawa-Sear delivers the keynote address at the 2022 Friends of Ngala Fundraising Luncheon. Doing it for the kids with Friends of Ngala, and an Ambassador’s call October 21, 2022 By Ashayla Dawn The Governor and Mrs Dawson attended Ngala’s key annual fundraising event – the Friends of Ngala Luncheon. Ngala offers a range of community programs that work with and for families and community members to enhance their experience of parenting and the development of children and young people. The keynote speaker was Dr Kelsie Prabawa-Sear, CEO of Nature Play Australia and Nature Play WA. Dr Prabawa-Sear spoke of the importance of outside play for children’s healthy development and well-being. This included play out in nature, with other children, using their imaginations and learning their limits and boundaries. Research shows that children at play are inhibited by adult supervision and should be given opportunities to play (in safe situations) without those restrictions. The Governor speaks with Martin Black, President of Friends of Ngala and Professor Donna Cross OAM. Talking cricket with the Ambassador of Afghanistan His Excellency Wahidullah Waissi, Ambassador of Afghanistan, paid a courtesy call on the Governor today.
