Government House Foundation

The Government House Foundation (established 1987) is a voluntary organisation working to promote the significance of the House, Ballroom and Gardens to the people of Western Australia.

The House is central to our history and heritage. The Foundation directly supports its conservation and enhancement by raising funds and encouraging the wider community to directly experience ‘their’ House and better understand the role of Governor.

Since 2006 the Foundation has staged the popular Music on the Terrace concerts, showcasing exceptional musical quality and encouraging young Western Australian artists.

We warmly encourage membership to share in supporting this centrepiece of Western Australian history and to participate in exciting projects to come.

A message from the Artistic Director

It is with huge excitement that I look forward to a full Music on the Terrace season for 2021!

We can only go forward with optimism after a challenging year, and I am sure that this time next year we will be looking back on a wonderful series of performances.

The Governor and Ms Annus have been very generous in allowing me to make the most of Government House in 2021. This means transforming the Ballroom into a wonderland, taking performances out into the Gardens, and launching our exclusive Soirée Series inside the House itself – a rare chance to enjoy the sumptuous inner sanctum of this beautiful heritage building.

With the unpredictability of travel continuing into our 2021 season, I have grabbed the opportunity to exclusively showcase our world class WA artists, hence our hashtag for 2021: #YayWA

Browse through the program and I’m sure you’ll find something that appeals to you amongst such a wide range of events.

I am grateful to the Honourable Kim Beazley AC and Ms Susie Annus for their hospitality, and to Government House Foundation supporters for making Music on the Terrace possible. We look forward to welcoming you to Government House in 2021.
