Professor Peter Leedman was today appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia at Government House Investiture ceremony for leading WA health researcher July 5, 2021 By Carole Kerr The Governor today invested Professor Peter Leedman as an Officer of the Order of Australia, at a small ceremony at Government House. Professor Leedman AO was recognised for his distinguished service to medicine, health and medical research as a physician-scientist, to professional societies, and to tertiary education. Professor Leedman is the Director of the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, Head of the Laboratory for Cancer Medicine and Chairman of Linear Clinical Research Ltd, a clinical trials facility owned by Perkins. The ceremony was conducted in line with the state government’s current COVID restrictions, with a limited number of guests in attendance. The Governor thanked Professor Leedman for the extraordinary work being undertaken at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research under his leadership. “It gives me great pleasure to officially invest Professor Peter Leedman AO.
