School Curriculum and Standards Authority Exhibitions and Awards Ceremony

The Governor attended the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) Exhibitions and Awards Ceremony at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre and helped present two medals named in honour of his father Mr Kim Beazley Senior AO.

The Awards recognised high achieving students from the 2020 Year 12 cohort with a range of trophies presented across ATAR, General and VET subjects.

The Governor was honoured to present the awards to the two recipients of the Beazley Medal, Josh Green from Christchurch and Luke de Laeter from Wesley College, both of whom met with the Governor in December 2020 at a special presentation at Government House.

Josh was awarded the Beazley Medal (WACE) for obtaining the highest score in the determination of the General Exhibitions, while Luke received the Beazley Medal (VET) for demonstrating the best results in a vocational education and training program.

The Governor congratulated all students who received an award and encouraged them to continue to work hard in whatever they do.

“Tonight we acknowledge and celebrate your hard work, your commitment to excellence, your resilience in an unpredictable and changing world, and your determination to achieve your goals,” said the Governor.

“Whatever you do I know you will succeed given the level of character, talent and tenacity that has brought you this far.”
