Sovereign Capability Roundtable, and Supreme Court Judge Swearing-In

The Governor hosted a roundtable on Sovereign Capability and Critical Supply Chains today, welcoming some of WA’s key government, industry, community and academic leaders to Government House.

The discussion provided the opportunity to help drive increased awareness and action to address emerging sovereign capability and supply chain challenges which underpin our State’s prosperity.

Perth USAsia Centre CEO Professor Gordon Flake and Senior Research Coordinator Dr Jeffrey Wilson facilitated the event, helping drive discussion on a range of key issues considered critical to the function of society, among them fuel, food and agriculture, medical supply chains, shipping, and cyber security to name a few.

Swearing-in of Supreme Court Judge

Congratulations to Mr Marcus Solomon SC, today sworn in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

Mr Solomon, a barrister and legal educator, was sworn in by the Governor at a ceremony in front of family and friends at Government House.

Also in attendance was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Western Australia the Hon Peter Quinlan SC, Solicitor General Mr Joshua Thompson, and Executive Director, Court and Tribunal Services, Department of Justice, Ms Joanne Stampalia.

Mr Solomon will officially take up his position on August 4.
