22 Jan, 2021

The Governor’s day included a tour of the Australian Marine Complex, as well as a catch-up with Leader of the Opposition, Zac Kirkup MLA.

The Governor visited the Australian Marine Complex (AMC) at Henderson today for an update on industry developments and projects at the world-class facility.

General Manager Jonathan Smith led a tour of the complex, home to the largest marine industry in Australia. More than 150 businesses are located on site, servicing the defence, marine, oil and gas, and resource industries.

“I visit the Australian Marine Complex as often as I can. It is a brilliant demonstration of our massive skills in engineering.

Every time I see it, it’s growing. It’s capable of handling more and more ships and of course it is a superb base for construction for our mining and energy provinces. Always inspiring.”
