Restart the Arts with Government House
To support local artists and associated creative industries affected by COVID, the Governor and Ms Annus launched the ‘Restart the Arts with Government House’ initiative, to increase the use of the Government House Ballroom for the community.
The Ballroom is available for local artists and arts organisations, who have lost rehearsal space or income due to COVID, as a venue to perform, record, rehearse and stream.

Lunchtimes in the Gardens
The Gardens of Government House are open for the community to enjoy every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 12pm-2pm (except for Public Holidays or otherwise advertised on social media).
Even with 3.2 hectares of gardens to share, visitors are still asked to practice good physical distancing when enjoying our ‘Lunchtime in the Gardens’.
Expressions of interest are open for 2022 dates. Schools, community groups and not-for-profit organisations are encouraged to submit an expression of interest for consideration by the Office of the Governor.
Guests will learn about the Governor’s role and his personal priorities and, importantly, how the House is being used as a busy working House for community engagement and a place for networking to advance the State’s interests.
