Requests for the Governor to host an event
The Governor and Ms Annus are pleased to host functions in the House and Gardens as part of the official hospitality program.
All requests to use Government House and Gardens for an event are considered against the Governor’s priority areas, availability, existing programming and budgetary considerations. Any request being submitted should include the significance, purpose and intended audience.
Requests to use the Government House Gardens and Ballroom
The Government House Gardens and Ballroom may be made available, at the Governor’s discretion, for eligible organisations within the community, including but not limited to:
- Performing arts groups
- Youth and religious groups
- Commonwealth societies
- ‘Not for Profit’ community groups
- Corporate and educational organisations.
All events held in the Gardens and Ballroom must respect the dignity, special character of the site and the Government House brand. For these reasons, all event plans must be approved by Government House.
All requests should be submitted as far in advance as possible. Requests received less than two months out from the proposed event date are unable to be considered. You will be advised in writing when a decision has been made.

Government House WA is active across digital platforms including Facebook. Twitter, Instagram and our website. Our Communications Team may capture photographs at your event to use for marketing and promotional purposes. By attending an event at Government House you are consenting to your photograph being taken, and used, by the Governor’s Establishment at its discretion. Depending on the nature of the event, other media may be in attendance and may also publish photos containing your image. If you do not consent for your photograph to be taken, please advise Government House staff on arrival.
