Village Energy are a Perth-based start up that applies advanced technology to help grid operators improve the reliability and affordability of providing energy to consumers.
Joined by Ben Hamilton, Chief Executive Officer, Yvonne Power, Chief Operating Officer/Co-Founder and Adam Gilchrist, Ambassador, the Governor toured the offices and observed a demonstration of Village Energy’s technology.
Village Energy specifically look at areas that experience energy challenges. Using artificial intelligence and not infrastructure, a software and hardware solution is installed that then enables the optimisation of the electrical grid in the area to meet growing energy demands.
“We are very fortunate here in Australia and we take 24/7 power for granted. That is not the case for lots of people around the globe. Village Energy is doing tremendous work developing technology that is working to resolve these energy demands in developing countries.”
Village Energy are making solid moves into Indian and Indonesian markets via promising pilot projects: including through support of their ‘Ambassador’ Adam Gilchrist. Along with Vietnam, it is widely considered that India and Indonesia are priority Australian markets.
Village Energy’s core belief is that access to stable power supply is the cornerstone of a thriving community. Within remote communities that already have access to a power grid, supply is more often than not, unreliable. They are addressing this through the implementation of highly advanced technology.
This solution will allow residents of remote villages and towns to manage their power usage, monitor consumption and pay their periodic power bills with ease. They also implement the use of green energy to ensure better quality of power supply while also helping residents minimise their costs.
