The Governor takes a tour of Perth City Farm with CEO Kathleen Burton and founder Rosanne Scott Visit to Perth City Farm July 14, 2020 By Adele Hollywood Once a polluted industrial site, Perth City Farm is a 26 year old garden oasis in the city encouraging sustainable living and community engagement. On Tuesday 14th July, the Governor toured the Farm with CEO Kathleen Burton and founder Rosanne Scott to learn more about the site’s history and many uses, “This is social enterprise in action. It teaches us how to live simply. Perth City Farm engage so many volunteers and so many folk get a sense of peace and capability from coming here and learning simple horticulture skills.” Governor Across its half-hectare site, discover a Community Recycling Plant (a great place to drop off bread tags and plastic bottle tops!), a nursery, venues for hire (including an art room and kitchen) and the famous Farmers Market every Saturday.
